The Beggar at the Kings Dinner

Written by curt. No comments Posted in: Podcast

A beggar saw the king was giving a dinner that anyone dressed in royal garments could attend. He knew his clothes did not qualify so he requested garments from the king. The king instructed his son to give the man clothes. The son told the beggar the new clothes would last forever.
The beggar thanked him, started to leave, but picked up his old clothes before he left.
The banquet was greater than he had imagined, but it was hard to fit in as he carried his old clothes.
As life went on, the new clothes did last forever, but he couldn’t let go of the old ones.
Unfortunately, sometimes we do the same thing. Each of us has been invited to God’s royal family. All we have to do is shed our old rags and put on the “garments” of faith provided by Jesus.
Get rid of those old clothes today. Put them it into life’s dumpster and walk in the royal garments given to you by the King’s Son.
